WHAT IS EDWARD COSSART OSTEOPATHY?

Edward gained a first-class applied masters degree in osteopathy
from the world-renowned European School of Osteopathy.

Edward Cossart

Edward gained a first-class applied masters degree in osteopathy from the world-renowned European School of Osteopathy. He was a student of leading osteopaths, learning osteopathic techniques including visceral, structural, myofascial, functional and cranio-sacral. His anatomy tutors included multi award-winning Osteopath Gerry Carter and internationally esteemed Professor of Anatomy, Frank Willard.

In addition to other osteopathic courses, Edward’s training incorporated three years of medical imaging. As a result he is qualified to refer for diagnostic ultrasound, MRI, X-ray and CT scanning. This vastly improves his diagnostic capability, enabling a more accurate prognosis and safe selection of appropriate treatment.

It was following open-heart surgery that Edward first encountered osteopathic treatment. An invaluable insight into post-operative rehabilitation, this has informed and inspired his practice, giving a unique perspective into some of the most challenging situations encountered by patients.

Working as a massage therapist has led Edward to treat in a range of settings including palliative hospice care. Edward’s passion for treating those at all stages of life is extended to treating newborns and children as well. Further training in Integrated Biodynamic-craniosacral and Thanatology with Rosemary Wallace has further enriched Edward’s practice, and helped in his development of subtle palpation.

Prior to his osteopathic training, a passion for grass-roots nutrition prompted Edward to train in organic agriculture at the Royal Agricultural College. During this time Edward worked at the Prince of Wales’ Duchy Home Farm, giving insights into the extraordinary benefits of traditional farming. Nutritional training continued during his osteopathic study when Edward was a student of International author Dr. Alan Stewart.

Dedicated to continued learning, and professional development, Edward has also returned to his alma mater, assisting students in their osteopathic studies at the European School of Osteopathy.
